Proper pet care will ensure that the animal is healthy and happy. Pet care includes feeding, grooming, and exercising a pet. It may also include making sure that an animal receives appropriate medical care in the case of an injury or an illness.

Giving an animal food is an example of proper pet care. The food that is given to a pet should be a specific formula that meets their dietary needs. Often, appropriate foods can be purchased at supermarkets for a reasonable price.

Pet care also includes proper grooming care and exercise. A dog may require a walk, a bath, and a good brushing. However, a cat may only require a clean environment and a fun place to play.
